Beautiful Little Trees

Posted by admin on Jun-15-2010

Maybe you’ve walked through an ornamental garden and saw some plants that remarkably look like trees. It seems impossible that they are trees though because of how small they are. These are bonsai trees and their size usually belie their age. This is because even though they are small, they can already be decades old.

The bonsai first appeared in China. It was known as pun sai which means planting and growing single tees in plants. The inspiration for bonsai actually came from China’s legends and myths of fiery dragons and coiled serpents. This is seen from the trees’ appearance which had animal-like trunks and roof formations.

Bonsai was part of the many cultures that Japan adopted from China. The art of bonsai was then highly refined in Japan. These were first confined to the Buddhist monks but later on they came to represent the aristocracy and thus became a symbol of prestige and honor. The art bonsai has then developed its ideals and beliefs. Bonsai is believed to be a representative of the harmony between man, the soul, and nature.

Bonsai also played special roles in the lives of the Japanese elite. They were displayed in specially designed shelves during special times. However, the plants at this time were still far from the bonsai trees we recognize today. It was in the 17th to the 18th century that the Japanese began the trimming and cutting from the plant everything but the most important parts. It was in the mid-19th century that Japan shared the bonsai with the rest of the world.

The Winning Formula for Your Indoor Garden

Everyone nowadays is concerned about going green. A lot of people are getting in touch with their inner environmentalist and are trying out different projects to participate in this new global consciousness. People have then begun to look around them and appreciate all the greenery around them. Some have even started their own gardens. While some people like to have outdoor gardens, there are also a lot who opt to have indoor gardens instead. One of the amazing technologies available to make this happen is the LED grow lights.

These are artificial lights that can actually help your plants grow inside your home. These are energy efficient lights that can help you in saving and making money. This is because you have the opportunity of actually having higher yields from your plants because of the added benefit that the led grow lights can produce.

For your indoor garden, you also have the option of using hydroponic growing. This is a cost effective way of growing plants indoors. In this method, water containing essential nutrients to the plants is sprayed directly onto the roots of the plants. A hydroponic nutrients, led grow lights system is then very important to indoor gardening. The good thing about this method is that you are sure that your plants are getting the important nutrients that it needs regularly. There is also little waste in this method as compared to watering plants in the ground as all the nutrients definitely go into the roots of the plant.

Hydroponic nutrients, combined with LED growing lights, are a winning formula for any indoor gardening enthusiast.
